Blood Cells

Blood is composed of yellowish plasma, 45% of which is comprised of blood cells. A cubic millimeter of human blood contains about 5 million red blood cells, also known as either red corpuscles or erythrocytes, 5,000-10,000 white blood cells, known as white corpuscles or leukocytes, and 200,000-300,000 platelets, or thrombocytes.

Here I have set up other pages to explore each type of blood cell in more detail.
